Twilight in Eranov

Background

After years of battle, the small village of Berium in the heart of the Swamp has finally fallen. The Staff of Erana has been removed, and the pestilent mire is closing in on the town. Only fortified Berium Keep is safe from the ghouls and cultists roaming freely through the town.

The survivors of the last battle in Berium have escaped to Eranov, recalling there with a rag-tag band of refugees and gypsies. They are staying at the Gilthanas Inn in the city. Berium has been deserted.

The Swamp has surrounded Eranov on all sides. Once the great shining Jewel of the North, the city has been made miserable by waves of the dead rising from the city's many graveyards. Though most parts of the city are now clear of undead and the Swamp is held back by a dyke and the Staff of Erana, the mood of the city is grim and desperate. The city-folk who died in the fighting are being purified with blessed water, then buried and mourned by their friends and relatives. Food is in short supply as the farmlands have turned sour.

The Royal Guard are under orders to bring down the Order of Erana, who defied the King by bringing the Staff of Erana to the city. The Order is hunkered down in their temple, and the Citizens of Eranov are divided in their support of the two groups.

The survivors from Berium will be joined in the Gilthanas Inn by Eranovian city-dwellers, there to take what repast they can from the fruit, bread and cheeses on offer and relax their troubled souls with wine, music and good company. As dusk approaches those from Eranov are making their farewells, for in the morning many will depart to seek their own paths through a kingdom on the brink of ruin.

Event Details

Start Wednesday 15th March 2006. Arrive anytime after 6pm and enter the inn in character.
End Game ends around 10pm, then everyone will be asked to help clean up.
Venue Mecca Stonehouse, 44 Tamaki Drive, Mission Bay.
Directions In the sea-side reserve on your left when you enter Mission Bay from the city.

What to Bring Your character's costume and equipment. Eat dinner beforehand, only snacks of fruit, bread and cheese will be provided. BYO drinks. The game is entirely indoors, fine clothes should not be ruined.
Notes Existing and new characters are welcome. New character concepts can be entered into the Character Database and run past Scotty to see if they'll fit the scenario. If you're creating a new character, consider being an Eranov local.
Risk & Reward This game is rated as being Low risk. Character death is unlikely but always possible.
