The world is familiar with the tragic tale of Juliet and her Romeo. A pair of star crossed lovers, for whom a fatal miscommunication turns what might have been a happy ending into a heart rending tragedy. Or at least, that's the version that Shakespeare made famous on stage. The reality was different. Defying their families, Romeo and Juliet of old succeeded in eloping and from their union came a child who was of both houses and thus of neither. The Montague-Capulet heir, in his life, came into possession of Ravenholme, having travelled to England in search of his fortune. For generations, the house was peacefully passed down the Montague-Capulet line. Until now. Stasio Montague-Capulet has mysteriously died with no heir and no will. His executor, Countess Elizabeth Bathory, has sent the grim messages to both families. Montagues and Capulets from all corners of Europe are to gather in the halls of this ancient manor to debate between them to whom the coveted property will fall. Uneasiness has fallen over both families, memories of previous bloodshed stir, old grudges are reawakened and an enmity so potent that it flows in the very blood of both families will flare to life once more in the halls of this most strange and most haunted manor. CostumingYour costume should be appropriate to the time period. Though some characters may be exceptions, all the players of Ravenholme are usually wealthy or well-to-do hedonists or other such upper class men. Garb should be fanciful and in the gothic style; Dracula, Interview with the Vampire, Van Helsing and other such darkly themed films are good examples of the kind of costuming that would be appropriate (do note though that Ravenholme is not about vampires). For Discordis Nominis, the year is 1625. The fashion during this era was, at best, incredibly complicated, and at worst, not even flattering. Historical authenticity is not expected. We ask that for Discordis Nominis, you costume yourself in "lavish renaissance". That means, we are looking for renaissance-esque dresses and doublets, in as a fine a fashion as you can manage - we're meaning velvets, crushed velvets, satins, all in bright, wealthy colours. Your costume should convey a sense of immense wealth, high class, and a general vaguely medieval/renaissance feel. Of course, should you wish to make a historically accurate costume, then you should feel free to do so. But it is not expected. House coloursAt Discordis Nominis, your character will be part of either the Montague or Capulet family. Your costume must include the colour of your house and entirely exclude the colour of the opposing house. You do not have to exclusively use the colour of your house, but it must be included in some form. The Montague colours are green and blue, and the Capulet colour is red.
