What is a Project?

An NZLARPS project is a larp-related project organised by a member of the society. The organiser has complete creative control. The society lends support, funding, equipment, and expertise to the project. The society will own any resources and profit created, so that they can be re-used for future projects.

A project does not have to be a larp event, although many are. Other examples of projects include the Diatribe online community, the society's magazine Immersion, the annual larp convention Chimera, and various community gatherings.

How to Start a Project

1) Post your idea on the Game Ideas forum on Diatribe.

The first step is to get some feedback on whether the idea is sound. You will get constructive feedback from the community. This step is optional.

2) Download the Project Definition form and the Financial Projection spreadsheet and complete them.

Right-click the link and select "Save As..." then save the forms on your computer. Open the forms and fill them in with the project details and finances. You only need to fill in the Financial Projection if your project requires funding. Contact the society President if have any questions or need help filling in the form.

3) Email president@nzlarps.org

This is your formal request to create a project within NZLARPS. Attach the Project Definition and Finanacial Projection to your email. The society President may contact you to discuss your project and offer advice.

4) Discuss your proposal at the next committee meeting.

Committee meetings are on the first Wednesday of every month. We recommend going along and discussing your submission. The proposal will be approved or declined by a committee vote.
